Without starters CB Carlton Davis and DL Calijah Kancey, the Buccaneers will take on the fourth-highest scoring offence in the NFL on Monday night.
Due to the inactive status of first-round defensive tackle Calijah Kancey and top corner Carlton Davis for Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defence will be without two starters when they face the fourth-ranked scoring offence in the NFL.
On Monday, 90 minutes before the start of their planned Week Three prime-time game at Raymond James Stadium, the Buccaneers and Eagles turned in their list of inactive players at 5:45 p.m. ET. For their match on Sunday, the Buccaneers' practise squad saw the promotion of linebacker J.J. Russell and defensive end Deadrin Senat, giving them a total of 55 players. Seven players had to be designated as inactive as a result.
Because of a toe ailment, Davis will be absent for a second consecutive game. Kancey is also sidelined for the second time in a row, this time because of a calf injury he initially sustained in training camp and then re-injured in the first game of the season. Davis is likely to be replaced at the start by Zyon McCollum.
However, rookie guard Cody Mauch (back), defensive lineman Vita Vea (pectoral), and linebacker Devin White (groyne) have all been given the all-clear to play after being listed as questionable to play for the Tampa Bay players going into the weekend.
Information regarding the inactive Eagles will soon be posted.
